On February 13th, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the rescue of the Abu Simbel temples from the waters of the Aswan dam the Salini Impregilo Group celebrates the achievement with an event at the Milan Triennale presenting the book “Nubiana” and a concert of the Cameristi della Scala with a program dedicated to the Egypt of the Pharaohs. La Scala musicians will perform some of the most beautiful and evocative pieces from Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida transcribed for chamber orchestra by Gianluca Scandola.
On January 30th Cameristi della Scala will perform for the first time in Grenoble in the concert season of la Maison de la culture.
The concert, with Ingrid Jacoby at the piano and Marco Toro as solo trumpet, will be conducted by Wilson Hermanto. Following the common thread of the concerts season in Grenoble the program will show humor in music in all its forms: from the shamelessly theatrical one of Mozart’s Musical joke, which teases the mediocre composers so appreciated at court, to the most sarcastic and bitter Shostakovich of the first concert for piano, trumpet and strings, in which the composer stands in open contrast with the aesthetic dictates of the Soviet regime.
Cameristi della Scala will be back to Imola on December 3rd, seven years after the wonderful performance with La Scala children’s choir at the Rocca Sforzesca. The concert, that is part of the Emilia Romagna Festival winter season, will be held at the Teatro Ebe Stignani and will involve La Scala first flute, Andrea Manco and La Scala concertmaster, Francesco Manara.

Cameristi della Scala and Francesco Manara, solo violin, will perform on May 15th at Milan’s Triennale Museum one of their most acclaimed programs: the Four Season composed by Antonio Vivaldi and las Cuatro Estaciones Portenas by Astor Piazzolla. The performance will take place in conjunction with the exhibition “Cyclopica” organized by Salini-Impregilo. Through a multi-sensory journey the exhibition represents the immensity of large-scale infrastructure: dams, bridges, tunnels, railways and roads that have marked the evolution of Mankind during the last century.
In celebration of the centennial anniversary of the great conductor, composer, pianist, teacher, music educator Leonard Bernstein, Cameristi della Scala under the baton of Wilson Hermanto, together with a line up of outstanding artists such as cellist/composer Giovanni Sollima, violinist Francesco Manara (himself the 1st prize winner of 1993 Concours de Geneve), clarinetist Fabrizio Meloni and the actor Antonio Albanese, are performing an extraordinary concert on Monday, May 7th at Teatro alla Scala di Milano. The concert program naturally focuses on the music of Bernstein, in addition we will also perform fabulous works by Aaron Copland and Samuel Barber who were among Mr. Bernstein’s close personal friends as well as giving the world premiere of a new commission of Cameristi della Scala written by Giovanni Sollima for this unforgettable evening. We want to thank the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Mail Boxes Etc., The Boston Consulting Group and Bocconi University for their support to the concert.
