For the first time performing with the cellist Daniel Muller Schott and for the first time performing one of the most interesting compositions of a young George Enescu: the string octet op.7. Cameristi della Scala for “Nubiana” at Milan Triennale

On February 13th, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the rescue of the Abu Simbel temples from the waters of the Aswan dam the Salini Impregilo Group celebrates the achievement with an event at the Milan Triennale presenting the book “Nubiana” and a concert of the Cameristi della Scala with a program dedicated to the Egypt of the Pharaohs. La Scala musicians will perform some of the most beautiful and evocative pieces from Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida transcribed for chamber orchestra by Gianluca Scandola.

In Grenoble at la Maison de la musique

On January 30th Cameristi della Scala will perform for the first time in Grenoble in the concert season of la Maison de la culture.

The concert, with Ingrid Jacoby at the piano and Marco Toro as solo trumpet, will be conducted by Wilson Hermanto. Following the common thread of the concerts season in Grenoble the program will show humor in music in all its forms: from the shamelessly theatrical one of Mozart’s Musical joke, which teases the mediocre composers so appreciated at court, to the most sarcastic and bitter Shostakovich of the first concert for piano, trumpet and strings, in which the composer stands in open contrast with the aesthetic dictates of the Soviet regime.

Imola, Teatro Stignani for the Emilia Romagna Festival

The concert, that is part of the Emilia Romagna Festival winter season, will be held at the Teatro Ebe Stignani and will involve La Scala first flute, Andrea Manco and La Scala concertmaster, Francesco Manara.

Sirmione in concerto
“If music be the food of love, play on
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die”

(William Shakespeare.Twelfth Night, or What You Will, Orsino, act 1, scene 1)

It opens in the name of the great poet of love of the modern age, William Shakespeare, the musical path that the Polo Museale della Lombardia together with the Cameristi della Scala set up for Sirmione, the place of birth of the poet Catullo.

Sirmione in concerto will be a musical journey of 5 concerts that will involve, from June 9th to September 9th 2018 Cameristi della Scala alongside other good musical friends, such as Giovanni Sollima, cello virtuoso and famous composer and Richard Galliano, the celebrated French composer and accordionist. A journey through the music, where the pleasure of listening joins the incredible beauty of the places of the performances: the concerts will take place in the archaeological area of the Grotte di Catullo and the Castello Scaligero of Sirmione.
